I’m Katie, the founder of the Monkton Farleigh Osteopathic Practice, which I set up in 2005 after moving to the Bath region. I started my osteopathic career in Bristol, where I gained great experience working in a large established clinic. At this time I also established my own practice working within a GP’s surgery which provided a steady stream of patients through recommendations from the residing doctors. I have now been practising for over 20 years.
I qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1999 , gaining the prize for Integrated Osteopathic Practice, which I believe reflects my style of ‘thinking outside the box’ when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. My previous background as a P.E. teacher and keen sports person has given me a good insight into sports injuries and rehabilitation and with a family of 10 medics I was always destined to be in a healthcare profession!
I use structural osteopathy and cranial osteopathy to treat a wide range of conditions in all ages. I also have a qualification in medical acupuncture, which can be great to combine with my osteopathy to help release stubborn musculature and tendinopathies, such as tennis elbow. I particularly gain satisfaction in helping chronic pain suffers get back to living a more fulfilled life.
My Practice, in the beautiful village of Monkton Farleigh, is set in the grounds of my house and allows me to maximise my time and commitment to my work when I am not playing mum to my three lovely children, who are growing up far too fast!
